An external 450 page audit provided by ECS revealed and helped guide the Eugene Police Department to improve its evidence management process and procedures to meet national accreditation standards. Some of the findings were missing evidence, poor staffing and software systems that lead to an over 90,000 pieces of evidence backlog. The department was recommended to have 40,000 or less pieces of evidence in their facility. ECS provided a mission critical role in identifying and documenting some serious issues that were occurring in the Eugene PD's Property and Evidence Unit.
